Mission

To work towards advocating for and ensuring that every child across sub-Saharan Africa is enabled to have access to quality basic education

Vision

BEAfrica’s vision is an Africa where every child is enabled and empowered to have access to basic education.

Since 2005, the number of out of school children in Sub-Saharan Africa has stayed around 30 million and the region accounts for more than half of out-of-school children in the world,  with Nigeria being the country that is home to the largest number of out of school children in the world. Source: UNESCO Institute for Statistics database

BEAfrica was established in 2013 in response to difficulties and barriers experienced by children in Nigeria and Africa in accessing quality basic education. BEAfrica aims to be a grass-root body that would work towards raising awareness and promoting the importance of education to different communities across Nigeria and Africa, as well as ensuring that basic education is standardised on the continent, to ensure that every child is not just in school but also getting the best education.

BEAfrica would work in partnership with other bodies to ensure that the quality of basic education is improved and the numbers of children accessing education is increased. BEAfrica is also committed to advocating for the girl-child’s access to basic education.
